What can reach the internet
Two things, both off until you switch them on, and each with its own switch:
- Barcode lookup sends a barcode number to Open Food Facts, and nothing else.
- Online food search sends what you type into the search box.
Neither sends anything you have logged. With both switched off, Logbook makes no network requests at all. The food database ships inside the app, so search works offline. The privacy policy spells out both in full.
Yours to keep
Export everything as CSV, JSON or a PDF for your clinician, whenever you want, free. Back the whole thing up to a file you hold and restore it on a new phone.
